Seed and Start Selection (2009)

The spring seeds have arrived and the greenhouse is in action! I am or will soon be starting batches of the following plants. Please let me know if you’d like starts of any kind. For ease of reference, I’ve broken them down into early and late spring crops, meaning that they’ll be ready either just before the last frost date in mid-May, or just after. The flowers and herbs fall somewhere in the middle so I’ve just listed them. Check with me with any questions.

EARLY CROPS:

  1. Forellenschuss Lettuce
  2. Amish Deer Tongue Lettuce
  3. Bloomsdale Spinach
  4. Golden Marguerite
  5. Arugula

LATE CROPS:

  1. Red Cap Mushroom Pepper (hot pepper)
  2. Fish (Serrano-Style Pepper)
  3. Ukrainian Eggplant
  4. Black from Tula Tomato (Kim likes this!)
  5. Green Sausage Tomato (shaped like a Roma, but yellow and green striped)
  6. Climbing Cucumber

FLOWERS / HERBS

  1. Red Gold Marigold
  2. Signet Marigold
  3. Sage
  4. Rosemary
  5. Borage
  6. Basil
  7. Savory

SEED AVAILABLE:

  1. Trail of Tears Pole Bean (plant in May, eat all summer long)
  2. Potimarron Squash
  3. Bush Scallop Summer Squash

Just let me know what you want! Most things take about 6-8 weeks to be ready, except greens and herbs, which can be ready sooner.
